We believe that God is the Creator and the Ruler of the universe. He has always existed and is God in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit (Genesis 1:1-2:25; John 1:1-4; John 14:16-26; Matthew 28:19; John 17:24; 2 Corinthians 13:14).
We believe that Jesus is the Son of God. Being born of the virgin Mary, he is both fully human and fully God. He has always existed and is equal with God the Father. Jesus gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people for all time. He gave His life, died on a cross, and was raised on the third day. He is seated at the right hand of God and will return again as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. (Isaiah 53; Luke 1:26-38; Luke 3:21-23; Matthew 28; Romans 5; 1 Timothy 6:15; Revelation 17:14 & 19:11).
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, whose indwelling at baptism enables Christians to lead a godly life, producing the fruits of the Holy Spirit. (John 16:4-16; Romans 8:9-26; Acts 2:38-39; 2 Corinthians 3:17-18; Ephesians 3:20-21; Galatians 5:22-23).
We believe that the Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God written under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and godly living, revealing God’s love. (John 20:29-31; Luke 24:44-50; 1 Corinthians 2:7-14; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21).
We believe that a relationship with God and the hope of eternal life is possible only through His grace; that forgiveness of sins is offered by God’s mercy through the blood of Jesus Christ in His death on the cross. The way to receive Christ as our Lord and Savior is to personally believe in Jesus as God’s Son, turn away from sinning, and be baptized (immersed) into Christ, uniting us with Him (Ephesians 2; John 3:3-21; Matthew 26:26-30; Romans 5:8-11; 6:1-7; Acts 2:36-41; Titus 3:1-7; Galatians 3:26-27).
We believe there will be a bodily resurrection from the dead when Jesus returns. God’s kingdom will have no end, and in keeping with His promise, we are waiting for a new heaven and a new earth in which righteousness dwells. (John 3:35-36; 5:28-29; 1 Corinthians 15:12-58; John 14; Matthew 16:27-28; Acts 1:1-11; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 2 Peter 3:10-13).
We believe our worship is spiritually based on the truth of what God has done through Jesus. On the first day of the week (Sunday), the gathered people of God express their adoration for and reverence to Him by observing the Lord’s Supper, singing hymns and spiritual songs, offering prayers, giving of our financial resources, encouraging one another, and receiving a message from God’s word. (John 4:23-24; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26; Ephesians 5:19; 1 Timothy 2:1-8;1 Corinthians 16:1-2; 2 Timothy 4:1-2, Hebrews 10:24,25).
We believe Jesus is the head of His body, the church. Our congregation is overseen by a plurality of elders, men who are gifted and qualified according to the scriptures to shepherd his church. We have deacons, men who are qualified according to the scriptures that serve various functions. We have ministry leaders, godly men and women, who serve our members and our community. Our preacher is a man who preaches the gospel in season and out of season, upholding the scriptures in all things. All of our members, enabled by the Holy Spirit, carry out God’s work through the church. We make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. (Acts 14:23; 1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9; Philippians 1:1; 1 Timothy 3:8-13; 2 Timothy 4:1-2, Ephesians 4:3).
